It’s almost 2020 and thinking about what lies ahead. And you know what…oftentimes, I have to admit, it’s a bit scary starting over on this page.
It’s absolutely terrifying doing something new and different. And it’s hard putting one foot in front of the other and not knowing whether or not you will succeed. It’s difficult trudging on day by day in the hopes that your tomorrows will be better… I know from experience.

In my life, there were so many times that I didn’t know what to do. There were times that I cried myself to sleep. And there were times where I questioned whether I’d get the life that I wanted. Oftentimes I felt stuck in the same place.
Don’t get me wrong.. I wanted to do better, but at the same time didn’t quite know what to do. And honestly, the one thing that helped me move on is figuring out what I wanted and breaking it all down into steps. Taking it one step at a time and trudging on as much as I could…regardless of the difficulty.
Some days I did well and other days I screwed up. But what it all came down to is the fact that I allowed myself to get back on track and to never give up.
So if you are feeling unsure and feeling stuck, I just wanted to let you know that you are never alone in your battle. It’s just a matter of small steps and trudging on despite the battle.
On that note, I’d love to share an activity this year and repeat it again next year. I want to share what I did in 2019 that I’m proud of, and in 2020, do the same thing. And I want you to do the same activity as well to show you how much you are capable of in a year!
Like they say, “you’re busy doubting yourself while some people are intimidated by your potential.” I think it’s time to stop doubting ourselves and to move forward. Let’s make this OUR Year.
Looking Back at My 2019 & What I’m Proud Of…
1.) Dwindling Down my Crew:
One of the hardest things of 2019 was letting go of those whom I loved. To let go of what I call “fake” people and to move onto better relationships where the love is returned. It was painful, but necessary…sometimes you got to do what you have to do.
2.) Working With Brands That I Love:
In 2019, I’ve had so many opportunities to work with brands that I absolutely love. While there were many that I turned down in the process (popular diet brands etc), I am so thankful to not only create content, but to do so with products and brands that I truly believe in. Products that I either buy myself or would buy myself! Some of them were clothing and come of them were foods, no matter what I did…I always remained true.
3.) Trying Even More Foods
Coming from a struggle with anorexia, I never imagined that I’d be trying all the different foods that I have tried without any difficulty. I’m eating chocolate without guilt, trying new kinds of yogurts, fishes, etc. that I never would have touched before, and I finally have the flexibility I never though I’d ever have.
4.) Pushing Myself Out of My Comfort Zone
This year, I did some events and have done so many things outside of my comfort zone that I can name. And you know what, I’m glad I did them… they were the best days.
This was one of my videos from an event I went to!
5.) Starting Not A Standard
Despite not “loving” technology, I started this platform Not a Standard which is all about using our stories and struggles to inspire others. While it wasn’t perfect (and still isn’t today), the fact is that I know that this page will inspire someone to keep going, connect others to each others, and also educate others. I know, as imperfect as it is, it’s perfectly imperfect for many.
Now It’s Your Turn… Whether you want to print this out and write it down or comment below, let’s figure out what you did this 2019 and if you want print the other to share what you want to accomplish this year. I’ll be doing the same thing and sharing 2020.
P.S. If you need any help, I get it completely. I’ve been in some dark places and I know what it’s like to be stuck. I know what it’s like to keep trudging when everything seems to be going wrong. So if you need a motivational coach, a friend, and a girl who has been there and done that, I’m here for you. Be sure to check out my service page.
And for everyone else, please do not be shy! Let’s hold ourselves accountable! Tell me below!
