From Michele:
Life isn’t easy. We have highs and lows, and yet we have two options: to give up or to go on to get the life we want. Giving up is easy and the going on is difficult, but heck… you have ONE life to live. One life that can inspire someone else not to give up on theirs.
So why not at least try to get the life you want. I mean, if not for yourself, live for others, and show them how it’s done. That they too can find a life that they love.
So here’s your sign. Try. Say screw it to whatever adversity you face, tackle it head on, and fight for the life you want. And when you do, we’d love for you to share your story and join our little community.
But until that time, hear from Joanne. A cervical cancer survivor, a single mother, and a nurse. She’s definitely Not a Standard and she’s definitely faced quite a bit of adversity, and yet here she is pursuing her road to happiness. Be inspired. Please read below.
Hi I’m Joanne Hung, at 42 years-old, I’m a Cervical Cancer Survivor. I’m on my second year post cancer treatment. I was diagnosed on December 2017, started the cancer treatment on February 2018. I’m a BSN-RN by profession, with a little background on Interior Design. A single mom who raised a 22- year-old son through the help of my supportive family. I was born and raised in the Philippines with Filipino-Chinese descents. And I migrated to the United States in Illinois and had reunited with my family in 2012. I have lived there for 6 years. Then I finally decided to move at LA in November 2018 and followed my heart’s desire.
I started working as a nurse since 2007 while I was still in my home country. Since then, I had this passion of promoting goodwill to humankind and have a great concern for human welfare
Being a nurse is tough, it requires a lot of physical, mental, and emotional energy.
It takes a lot of patience, understanding, compassion, and empathy to take care of the sick. This has inspired me to do my job well. It is my way of providing service for humanity. Especially during this time of COVID-19 pandemic. It takes a lot of strength, courage, and motivation to stay on my profession as a healthcare worker. It takes a lot of mind, body, and soul preparation before going out there and take care of the sick people.
Aside from being a nurse, I love arts and being artsy. My interior design background influenced me to have this flair style and fashion, arts and culture, food and society. I also have an interest in connecting with nature and spirituality. These are the pleasures in life that makes me happy. The most current passion that I am into now is skincare. I am into skincare business and I love sharing how amazing these products are and how it transformed my skin, as I’ve been using these products for 3 years.
I love sharing information about all the things that benefited me, and ways of how I overcame and dealt with life difficulties.
Life can sometimes bring us down, I had my high and lows too but that did not stop me from pursuing on what I believe in. It is not a reason to stop living our life and pursue the road to happiness.
