The other day I received a question of where I saw myself in five years, and it made me think. Because let me tell you, ten years ago, I didn’t picture myself blogging let alone starting a company. I pictured myself as a doctor… a pediatric anesthesiologist or oncologist, if you must.
Heck, even just a few years ago, I pictured myself in the medical field… I loved it so much.

But that’s my point…

So on that note, I want to answer that question above to the best of my ability. But not even I know what’s in my road.
In 5 years I hope to…
1.) Write a Book:
Ever since I was in second grade, I LOVED writing. I loved creating these stories out of nothing. And that hasn’t changed, except that now, it’s in a different capacity.
I would love using my experiences along with my education to help others. From growing up with a type 1 diabetic and someone with food allergies to having to get a restraining order to my ten year struggle with anorexia… there’s so much that I have yet to share that needs to get heard. Not for pity and not to complain, but to bring awareness to problems within the healthcare system that can prevent some from receiving the help that THEY need.
2.) Do a TED Talk:
Ten years ago, I never imagined my life to pan out the way it is today. There were so many times within those ten years where I wanted to just give up and give in. From struggling with anorexia to other issues, it’s been quite the adventure. While I am today because of my determination, I’d love to share what I’ve learned to motivate others and inspire someone like I did in the past, who just needs to keep going.

3.) Build Not a Standard:

If you haven’t noticed already, I started this platform which is all about using our stories to inspire others to keep going when times are tough, to connect others to those that can help, and also to educate others on different struggles. It’s my passion project which was started out of nothing. Bootstrap budget (which was made possible by using this hosting company for my website) and no technology knowledge (outside of what I had learned blogging)!
Just one determined girl with a passion… that’s all it took.
4.) Move

While I’m so thankful to be in New Jersey, I have every intention of moving within the next five years. I’m not a fan of the cold (that’s an understatement) and I originally said California. But honestly, I have no idea where I’m moving yet… it all depends on how the rest of my life pans out.
5.) Travel More:
Believe it or not, I’ve never been outside of the US (besides Canada)! I’d love to venture out to Italy, Greece, and Spain. (And for everyone on my flight, I apologize in advance… I don’t love flying LOL!)

6.) Surprise** (TBA)
While I can’t share this one, I’ll leave it as a surprise. (Could it mean a relationship? Or could it be another project?) Guess you are going to have to keep following me if you want to find out where my road is going to go.
So those are five things that I have my heart set on doing within the next five years. While they are a bit lofty and all a bit expensive to accomplish, if my experience has taught me anything it’s this… everything is possible if you have enough nerve.
So whether you were curious or whether you were here for a bit of motivation, I just want to end off with a quote I shared on Instagram the other day…
“it’s kinda hard to believe that the person living my life 10 years ago is the same person that’s living my life today. When someone tells me that “people don’t change” I just look at them, say nothing and smile because I have my own personal experience to prove them wrong.”
Why end off a blog like this?
Because I’m not the same person I was ten years ago… and fact is neither should you be. If you don’t like where your life is headed, you can change your life today. Quit that job and find one you love. End that relationship, stop settling. Take a step in the right direction with your health. You only have one life to live… you may as well make it one you love.

Traveling more would be a dream! I would also love to do a TedTalk 🙂
