There’s this quote that says that you can do anything, but not everything. Yet I’d have to disagree. I think we are so much more capable than we know and that we ALL deserve to give ourselves the chance.
To get out of our comfort zones and stop defining ourselves just for our love of fashion or love of food, but to try new things and see what you enjoy. Maybe in between you will find something that you love or that you are good at that you didn’t even know.
But Where Do You Start?
Finding a new hobby is hard to do. There are so many to choose from, and oftentimes it’s hard deciding which one to choose. So today, I’m simplifying it for you. Here’s one of my most recent creations with you!
Hand-painted T-shirts made for YOU!
These shirts are easy to create, fun to wear, and also a great break away from all the screens at work and home! They don’t take long to make and are perfect to make for beginners with or without kids.
Let’s Start: Hand-painted T-shirts
So the first part of any project is finding the supplies and purchasing them. In this project, you will need a cotton t-shirt or tank top, DecoArt Acrylic Fabric Paints, Paintbrushes, container for water, an old cardboard box (to put inside the shirt so the paint doesn’t leak), and a tray for holding paint. You can choose to purchase these anywhere you would like, but I saved money by buying the shirts on sale (they have them at H&M on Sale Today!) and using an old splendid spoon container that I used. Additionally, I re-used an egg box that I had from my egg recipes!
You, on the other hand, can always buy wherever you like. Below please find the list of supplies you will need for this project.
After purchasing everything you need, it’s time to get to work! There are so many options of how to do this, but the thing about painting a t-shirt is that it’s easy peasy. There’s no right or wrong way to paint. And with DecoArt’s new Fabric Acrylic, it’s easier because you don’t need to mix acrylic paint with a medium (which you can also do if you don’t want to buy a new set of paint!). All you have to do is squirt a bit of paint on a tray, paint, and let it dry. After the paint is dry, simply throw it in the washer and get ready to wear it!
