Two years ago, I shared this gem on my Instagram, “You never know where your life may lead so take a step back and breathe.“ Such a simple statement, and yet so true. It’s crazy to believe all that I’ve been through in a decade. From battling a ten year struggle with anorexia to living in an abusive situation at home (that later led to a restraining order) to getting kicked out of outpatient help due to hospital guidelines, health insurance, and financial circumstances… it’s been quite the battle. But just a few years and a lot of tears later, I’m here. I am here sharing my story, my little Michele-isms, and most importantly, my smile.
So why am I sharing this?
Because times are hard. It may seem hard to keep trudging on. I’ve been there before. Wondering whether my life would ever get better. And wondering how and if I could go on. I just remember feeling like an oddity in life… I wasn’t sure if my life would get better. And that’s my point… sometimes life does hit you hard. Sometimes you fall down more than once. Sometimes life isn’t about thriving, it’s about surviving. And sometimes it requires that you just take it step by step and day by day to “make it.”
So maybe this is a silly message, but I know that I once needed the reminder.Keep trudging, keep doing what you can… eventually this will end and life will get better. I believe in you. You got this more than you know.
Speaking of reminders, here are a few Michele-isms to save on your Pinterest boards. Save them, remind yourself, and never give up. #wegotthis
